First of all as a vietnamese person who is in this industry i wish nothing but success for everyone in this industry but I must be fair when it comes to food review. We ordered Bo Tai Chanh, combo vermicelli noodles, seafood hu tieu, and ice coffee. Bo tai chanh ... was brought out as frozen meat with sauce on it. It pains me to see when it was presented as before anything, i am a chef. This is a lazy way of cooking which shows the person cooking has no passion for food. Yes this dish is raw thinly sliced beef with lime squeezed on it to semi cook it, not frozen food taken out a freezer and put it onto a plate. The combination vermicelli dish is subpar at best with the only standout was the eggroll even though it felt like vegetarian eggroll due to no meat can seen in the filling. The hu tieu broth was pho broth and the shrimp and squid was way overcooked so both shrank to tiny size. Overall, this industry should focus of the love of serving good food in my opinion and this place is not it. Ordered the bun bo hue and pho tai. The bun bo hue was pretty tasty. Better than a lot of places in the city. I liked that they put blood pudding in it as a lot of other places in the city that I’ve had BBH at don’t. Definitely could’ve ... put more meat tho. The spice level for the BBH was pretty mild. I would give the BBH a 4/5. As for the pho tai, the broth was very flavourful. One of the best pho broths I’ve had in the city. I’d give the pho tai a 4.7/5. The food came fast as well which was nice. I also ordered the iced Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk. I feel the portion of the iced coffee could have been bigger, especially considering the price for it. The BBH and pho tai were good portions, I got a large for both of them. Food: The Pho was a bit disappointing (I’ve had Pho around the world), the broth had a more “bony” smell and taste almost “gamy” to the point that my son who loves Pho could not handle it. The flank was dry and tough despite being in the soup. Portions were ... very good. Salad rolls were one of the best for sure and the vermicelli was perfect! Service: As we entered the gentlemen in the front counter greeted us in a friendly way while the young lady beside stood still, no eye contact with me or my wife - I’m sure she is friendly too, but if you want to retain customers and new one, first impressions matter. Overall, great service! Atmosphere: the place is new, specious, and with extra attention to cleanliness they will preserve it new and fresh. Food was great. The beef dish may need a bit of a defrost before eating, but once defrosted was quite tasty and enjoyable. The bun bo hue was great! It can get quite busy and if they are you may feel the pressure to pay once done.

My favourite Viet place in town. Great service from everyone, giant portions of food and the taste was top tier. I come here every time I'm in Calgary. Their beef tartare is the most famous and I can see why. Sliced thinly and combined with a vinegary sauce to cut ... out all the fat meatiness, it was divine. So two boys that went to the restaurant and order two dishes, one for each of them. Their Pho is mental and their service was fast and friendly. Read more
