Pho Hoan Pasteur - Calgary, Alberta

Good selection of soups and noodle bowls. Tasty appetizers. Good service too. Clean. Plenty of seating. Really busy during lunch but food was still really quick.

Wife and I just found our favourite pho spot. Ordered their house special and so much meat, and the broth was delicious. My toddler ate a lot since she found it also delicious. Their strawberry bubble tea is yummy. Sorry, no pictures since too busy enjoying our dinner.

Bun Bo Hue was pretty flavourless, was feeling extra hungry so I opted for the XL size which was almost $20. Someone else at the table got a Large and got substantially more noodles than me. Like others have stated, way better options elsewhere and cheaper too.

I’m a big Pho fan and have tried many in Calgary and this was not my fave place and likely will choose others over Pho Hoan. Flavour of the broth was pretty meh. I was mostly disappointed that the only meatless option was still beef broth and just noodles. So ... not vegetarian friendly. Every other Pho place has veggies and tofu included (with a veggie broth option), and not $5 extra for steamed veggies. I wouldn’t make this my first choice to go here. I was just in the area but I wouldn’t come here again. I’m not quite sure if they take their hygiene/cleaning protocols in consideration. The tea doesn’t taste like anything but diluted tap water tea, the plastic cup you would ... get with water, you immediately get a scent/taste of plastic. Although I came here with a decent sized group, took a range of 10-25 minutes to wait for our food. One of my friends even had to ask about his order. The food is still okay, you don’t quite taste the broth, meat was overcooked/chewy. The only thing that would save my rating is the sizing of food and the price. I’m the type of person who enjoys to try new places, but I wouldn’t come back. Read more
