On google, the hours say they close at 9:30. We got there shortly before 9pm, I rang the service bell and someone came out shortly. The waiter was visibly annoyed at the fact we showed up at the time we did; so I asked him if they were still serving ... and if they were closing soon. All he said to us was “It’s fine” and sat us down at the table. Again, we asked him if it was okay for us to dine in and all he said was “It’s fine” with a half smirk and tossed the menus onto the table. We left quickly after that as they were obviously not okay with us dining in; which we would’ve been perfectly understanding of and all he had to do was tell us that they were no longer serving customers. Poor customer service and attitude from that waiter. Bummer. Read more
My third favorite Vietnamese restaurant. Their food is amazingly delicious. The only thing I don’t recommend for this place, because of the waiting. The waiting takes time and I myself is sometimes impatient. Especially when I’m starving. I don’t know if other people served food for them fast, but the ... last time I came here, food made me wait for as long. I don’t mind their amazing dish though. It's well prepared and delicious. Impressed with the genuine customer service I recieved. The food was really really good and the serving size was impressive too. The biggest highlight for me was the Viet iced coffee. It was the highlight because there was more coffee than ice!!! Definitely coming back!
I was going to leave this review without details but owing to the owners response I find it my duty to other prospective diners to elaborate. Without question this restaurant had the slowest service of any Vietnamese restaurant I've ever been to. I ordered a vermicelli dish and waited over 20 ... minutes despite the restaurant being less than a third full. When the vermicelli arrived I noticed a hair in the dish which I removed and put on the table and was so hungry I was going to ignore it when I found a second hair. When I brought this to the attention of presumably the owner he appropriately said the meal would be remade and I would not be charged. I, however, changed my mind and left the restaurant before the new dish was made for me having only drank the tap water I was given. Now I see the owner has left a nice reply accusing me of putting hair in the food I waited far too long for and only ate a couple bites of for some nefarious reason I myself am unsure of. -How did I materialize 2 black hairs from my blond head? -What did I have to gain from leaving the restaurant before receiving the meal the owner said would be free? -Does this seem like an appropriate response from the proprietor of a business to what was originally a 1 star rating? There are plenty of other amazing Vietnamese restaurants in Calgary that will continue getting my business, not this one. Read more
