Taos Pizza - Calgary, Alberta

Owner uses this place as a tax write off. Doesn't keep up with necessary supplies needed for staff and clientelle and doesn't even pay staff for proper hrs worked! Should report him for that.... Great pizza though and a nice hang out for locals in the area but with a ... lot of nonsense attitude from the staff too! Time for this place ti go and give us locals here a real place to call home!!! Read more

Once upon a time I quite enjoyed the pizza here. A very poor experience today. Two very undercooked pies so I tossed them in my oven for a bit. Nope, didn't help. Unfortunately they both ended up in the garbage. Guess I'll try my luck elsewhere since I'm still craving ... pizza. Read more

Formerly known as Paul's pizza, once it became Tao's this place went down. Under Paul, the prices were lower, the pizza's were bigger with more toppings, and the restaurant was packed at lunch and busy after dinner. Now? This place is a ghost town, I don't know how they ... stay around. Stopped in for a quick dinner at 5pm, companion had classes in the evening at 630. Thought an hour is more than enough time to order, eat and drop her off at the University, man was I wrong. Sat there for an hour in an empty restaurant - literally just the two of us. Pizza's weren't even ready yet, so I told the waitress we've waited an hour, super patient, but we have to go. She explained that they for some reason failed to make the pizza's, hence the delay. Unbelievable when there was only the two of us there. Anyway, got the pizza's when we were leaving, unfortunately my partner, she wasn't able to eat before classes as we had to go. Very disappointing. Got the pizza's home to eat with the kid...my goodness, so small. The 8" is now the medium and the 10" a large...seriously what on earth, especially since the prices went up. Check out my pics, you can see the pizza is smaller than my phone. And topping wise....beef, onion, and cheese? More like onion and cheese. Also after waiting an hour for two tiny little medium pizza's, not even a discount like 10% off to rectify the delay. Just wow. I am so disappointed with this place. I do not recommend at all. Great food, but the service was horrible! The bartender was rude and she constantly was hitting on my boyfriend. Even after I gave her multiple looks, then both me and him told her off and we left. The bartender was named Alice. Other than the unprofessional ... behavoir, she also forgot to ring in our order, we had to ask for our drinks when we first came in for around 20 minutes while she was on her phone ignoring us and other customers. We also noticed Alice paying special attention to one guest who I'm guessing was a regular and always tips her generously... Needless to say, she got no tip from us, and we are certainly never going to come back. I will personally tell people to avoid your restaurant until she is dealt with. You have just lost two very good and generous customers thanks to your unprofessional employee. Goodbye, I wish things could have ended better. Read more

went today and found out under new management. wasn't busy at all and it was 25 minutes and our food still hadn't come out. there was ONE person in the kitchen doing all the food orders????!!! seriously - ONE PERSON cooking?! We ended up leaving, we arrived at almost 12:20 ordered before ... 12:30 and it was 12:55 when we walked out - My lunch hour is 12-1, so how was i supposed to eat and be back to my office at 1? NOT IMPRESSED! New management, HIRE more CHEFs and Servers - Paul's was AWESOME BEFORE, now not so much! Read more
