Muku Japanese Ramen - Calgary, Alberta

This used to be our favourite ramen shop in Calgary. We had no idea about the change in ownership. Smaller portions, no more sets. Greasy appetizers, thin bland broth and all at a more expensive price! I’m so bummed out. This was an absolute gem in the city and now it ... can be skipped. Wife and I won’t be going back. This place has been destroyed. Service was fine but the atmosphere was weird since the restaurant was empty- which is odd since usually on the weekends there’s a lineup to get in. Omg best ramen place ever!!! The noodles are perfection. The soup is perfection. Overall ramen is a 10/10. You got to try it!!! SOOO GOOD!!!

Filled my empty stomach But I felt the shrimp dumplings were a bit too small, and fried crumbs on my beef Yakisoba were unnecessary... Maybe bonito flakes would be a better choice~

The ramen was okay, nothing special but the fried octopus was so small and underwhelming… We’ve been to a lot of ramen/japanese restaurants but this has got to be one of our least favourite. This was my second time visiting here and here is, short and cut to the chase real review. Food presentation: 4/5 (Pretty typical Japanese style Teishoku) Taste: 2.5/5 (Tastes like home made Japanese Ramen as in you can purchase the soup base and ingredients from a local Asian Market, then make it yourself and ... might taste the same. 0.5 star was for using ingredient which you can only buy as a restaurant owner.) Service: 5/5 (I haven't travelled around the world. Yet. But Japanese customer Service is very unique and Im not sure if there is such thing as a bad customer service in Japanese Hospitality industry hence 5 stars) Atmosphere: 1.5/5 (The atmosphere of the place was very crowded where I felt like I was eating with the table next to me) I do appeciate the hard work and effort for all the staff this evening who have prepared a delicious meal for me and my overall experience was 5/5 Read more
