Kinjo Sushi & Grill - Calgary, Alberta

This place is massive! Almost too massive to be honest. It is great to come in as a group of 8 people and be seated all together in the back area without a reservation for lunch, but it also is challenging for the staff to keep up on all of ... the patrons in the whole place because it is so large compared to the other Kinjo locations. The food was excellent and well plated 🍽. Once it started coming it came out consistently and pretty quickly. It is nice that it did not all come at the same time. One suggestion might be some way to ask the guests if there is any priority of food to come out because there were a couple of people that had specific dietary requirements that sat and watched us eat for a while until their food came later. It is not a major problem but it would be a nice touch for larger groups. The servers were friendly and the decorations around the restaurant are nice. As far as my experience goes, the prices here are great. There doesn't seem to be any customization options as far as their $5 breakfast special, so if you dont like eggs sunnyside up you will not be happy. Other than that everything tasted fine, the service went well and ... the atmosphere is what you would get from most diners, meaning a bit noisy, but nothing out off the ordinary. Haha I just realized they forgot to give us the miso soups (2x), and peanut butter. We ordered Tamago spam sushi with miso soup, pocket sushi set with miso soup, one crispy chicken (boneless), two taro bubble teas, benihana roll, sourdough toast with peanut butter and strawberry jam (they forgot ... the strawberry jam, I had to asked for it; and totally forgotten the peanut butter). Oh man! How did I missed out so many things and I still gave 15% tip. Lol. Ahemm...please do better next time. Generally, food is good and reasonably priced. Read more

I love Jimmy! Wonderful customer service, seriously he was the best. Super nice, always making sure we had everything, even went above and beyond for us. The food here is amazing aswell, good portions and great prices. The vibes here were super cute, but also still with the modern style. ... Very nice, good area for hangout, the bar was nice and there’s lots of space. I really appreciate that they include the ingredients, since I have allergies this was very convenient for me and I really appreciate it. Also, going back to Jimmy, I love him! Read more
