Royal Ganesha is a hidden gem. We stumbled upon this restaurant and have not found a better Indian dining experience. The food is mouth watering and delicious. The staff is always friendly, attentive and professional. I highly recommend any paneer dish and the vegetable pakora. While generally pretty great, Royal Ganesha can be a but of a mixed bag. The good: The food here is absolutely incredible. Well made, very tasty, and fair portion sizes. Quite possibly the best in the city. Also, the staff here are are wonderful. On multiple occasions I've had skipthedishes accept late ... orders (as late as midnight) and had them filled with zero problems. The bad: The prices here are higher than I would have expected (Though you can get a discount if you have a takeout menu handy). This place is probably your best choice if you are looking for Indian food in the west end of downtown, but there are some other good options in the area as well. Read more

We loved the food, atmosphere and service of the Royal Ganesha! You can state how spicy you want the food, we chose medium and that provided a nice soft heat. The veg pakora appetizer was fantastic, as was the veg samosa which was also very generous. All of our mains, ... all veg, were extremely tasty and cooked to perfection. Went here once, just to try it. Came back next week, and the week after. Great food, great friendly service. I personally like ordering a bunch of appetizers to share with a group because they have so many great dishes. The Veggie Pakora are a must ... have every time I'm there. Read more

What a lovely find! The restaurant is situated on a very eclectically decorated two story house. And of course, there is a gorgeous statue of Ganesha welcoming you in the waiting area. We peeked at the menu in hopes of spotting something vegan. A very amicable and chatty ... Filipino waiter asked if we had any special dietary needs. We explained to him that we were vegan, and he promptly sought out the chef to explain the dishes in more detail to us. She pointed out everything we could eat and told us not to worry as she is quite aware of hidden animal ingredients. She guaranteed us a completely animal free meal. We ordered an interesting fried onion appetizer (reminded me of the awesome blossom from Chilis restaurant). It was bursting with cardamom and nutmeg flavor and fried to perfection. Our entree was an eggplant dish with basmati rice, also delicious albeit a little too spicy for me. In the future, I suggest you inquire about spice level before ordering. It wasn't very clear, but we managed to enjoy it. The customer service was superb! I loved chatting with our waiter about different cuisines and he seemed very interested in our vegan culinary choices. All in all, the food and service are well worth your time and money! Read more
