Five Rivers Indian Cuisine - Calgary, Alberta

Food was okay , good to eat. But NO service , we went to a buffet dinner with 12 people at 6.15pm. The cashier was stubborn/no smile , no greeting no welcome. We stood there and asked for the table as we had already arranged a reservation , she said we can sit ... anywhere. Oh my God , here we came all the way from Vancouver to meet family and sit anywhere ? No arrangements ? So we ourselves join 3 tables together pull 12 chairs laughing out loud, make ourselves comfortable. Food taste was ok with fresh chillies But no small plates , no bowls , no forks , We finished dinner by 7pm , they don't even to take your plates away. We asked the server to clear our table so we could sit for a while and chat as the restaurant was empty but she never did So we sat with the dirty plates until 8.32 , took some pictures lol. For me the best indian/vegetarian restaurant in Calgary. All you can eat , great taste of food, many choices also for vegans.

The food was good and the restaurant was spacious so seating was not an issue. The staff were friendly and attentive. The price is not bad for the buffet either. All in all a good experience.

I really like this place. To be truthful, I am not Indian so I cannot speak to the authenticity but everything was delicious. The buffet has a very wide range of choices, including butter chicken which was great. HINT: the buffet value is amazing. They should be charging more. ... See photo. Decent Indian food buffet. Food was great, unfortunately not the best service. Sitting area is nice and washrooms are clean.
