We like the food and atmosphere when we discovered the restaurant in June 1. We have been eating there every weekend except for 2 weeks we had ala carte and biryani on each visit we will order the thali set. Photo 1 was June 1st, 2nd photo was on Father’s Day ... the thali has 2 roti. Usually we go around past noon. Today we were there 11am though being the 1st customer before a group came 20 mins later we had to wait a bit for food but the portion of the rice is barely a small bowl (a few spoonfuls) dhal not a full bowl like previous visits, especially the salad (half the usual portion) and 1 smaller size roti ! Where is the consistency of food portions served ? We had to order extra naan. Despite being regular customer there is no special service on occasions like Father’s Day compare to another restaurant we went on that same day. Nice atmosphere, slow service, food was alright but prices were a little to high for the quality. Malai chicken was the biggest disappointment unfortunately, sauce was far too buttery and with too much oil that overpowered the flavours of the chicken. If you want Indian food at a nice atmosphere ... downtown then I would go again, but if you want good quality Indian food I would steer clear and head to something more authentic in the north east. I have to wait for little bit as table was not ready. Which is completely fine as restaurant was busy. Host and server (Mark ) was welcoming. Food was really good. Portions were less as compare to price. Overall experience was excellent. Was there to celebrate my mom and ... dad 40 anniversary. Also interior is top notch! we had a really nice time! Read more

Saturday night was the first time I tried this place and I couldn’t have been happier. The food was tasty and the presentation of the food was beautiful! I will say though the cocktails could have been better. They lacked flavour and presentation. I was expecting a little bit more from ... them because of how beautiful this place was. Should match the vibe. Service could use some help. We barely saw our server. We seen a server who came in for his shift half way through our meal more than our own. He cleared our plates and asked if we wanted more drinks, etc. Other wise I’ll still be back! Read more

Love this place and I love the pivot to the new location on 1st street. I've seen over the decades different waves of Indian cuisine. But I love this modern version of what I feel is fairly authentic but with comfort and simplicity. It's a beautiful room but unpretentious. I ... feel the flavors really come through.
