We paid for two ice creams and only got one. Then when we paid for it we didn't even get the correct change back but they wouldn't listen. Everyone else in the ice cream shop did not look like the ice cream tasted good, and I agree with that. IT ... tasted sweet and kind of off. If you’re a sea salt caramel fan, the salt chocolate bits are a shock for me. The blend was similar to tiger tail, certainly different from some other places’ salted caramel, like Village (fully blended) for example. Service needs improvement in terms of customer connection.

The ice cream: I tried a cherry cheesecake flavour that wasn't remotely cherry-tasting. Texture-wise it was disappointing as well. Service: only one guy working on a busy Sunday. He was admirably efficient, but clearly needed some backup. Atmosphere: pretty dated and dingy inside. Plenty of outdoor seating, though, which is a big ... plus. Overall: the place seems to be skating on nostalgia a bit. Good location for a neighbourhood scoop, but wouldn't go out if my way to return. Not great value for the size/flavour. Read more

I always try to avoid giving 1 star reviews, but in this case, there was more than 1 issue. First, I will ask you to take a look at my photo and try to determine which cup had the double kid's scoop, and which one had the large double scoop. The large ... is supposed to be the cup at the bottom of the picture. Prior to ordering, the staff was unwilling to give more than 2 sample tasters. She said I was lucky to get a 3rd. This place wasn't busy. There were 4 other people in there, all who were already being helped by other staff. This place has 70+ flavors, but they seem to expect you to make a decision of what 2 flavors to get if you order a double by only trying 2 samples. I found it strange that I was given resistance when asking if I could try a 3rd option to see which ones I'd like to get. I wasn't going to ask to try all 70+ flavors, but this employee behaved like the little samples, and the scoops she ended up giving us were coming out of her paycheck. It's this type of customer service and poverty mentality that puts a bad vibe on the establishment, and the experience as a whole. After bringing up the matter to the manager, he was keen to correct the issue by adding some more to my cup, which I appreciated. Sadly, the staff member didn't seem to be trained well, or perhaps she wasn't in the mood to be there. Whatever the reason is, I will never know, but deep down, I hope this is just a one-off and others have a better experience. My lady and I heard this was a good place and decided to make a trip of it. We drove 20 mins to get there, but I sincerely doubt that we will be making any more special trips to return. I find Noto Gelato to be a much more enjoyable experience. Read more
