Jan’s Meat & Deli - Calgary, Alberta

This is a great little European deli. I come here for 3 things: their smoked Polish sausages, their smoked side bacon, and their Caraway ham. They make their sausages and bacon in-house and the quality is absolutely amazing. The side bacon is one of the best bacons I've ever tasted ... and their Polish garlic sausages are excellent. They also have Kabanosy, a bit dry for my liking, but are great as a snack. They have a Caraway ham that goes great in any sandwich, or even alone as a charcuterie item. They also have European style breads from local bakeries that you can buy - these pair well with their bacon and sausages. I will mention though that parking can be a bit of a pain since the road they are on is a bit tight and the lot in front of the store is pretty small. Read more

Hidden gem of Calgary best donughts and pastry's let alone the smoked meat! Great people family ran from the beginning. Love the atmosphere and the quality service aswell as food! Just a Great place

The workers are awesome and knowledgeable. Anything they butcher for you tastes way better than what you get at a grocery chain, and makes you feel immeasurably better after eating it as well. Very well priced, and plenty of other culturally interesting things for sale in the store. Particularly, their ... sirloin steaks are super affordable and are absolutely delicious! And be sure to try the blocks of soft cheese I'm holding up in a selfie (pictured)!!! English and Polish are both spoken fluently by all workers, and they give out meat and bones for dogs for free (bones and happy dog also pictured). I love this deli. I highly recommend the blood sausage and the perrogies. For a special treat after 3pm on Fridays they do an amazing smoked salmon. Very authentic polish deli. Amazing staff and food.
