Such wonderful staff they have with awesome fast service! It feels like childhood rustic home every time we eat here. Saturday brunch is our favourite and we always sit upstairs. It’s like grandma preparing a good brunch meal after you wake up from a terrible hangover. I like their Ukrainian ... hash meal because of the Kolbassa sausage. They have a good selection of food but the best part is the ambience of the place. Definitely will go back for future hangover mornings👌 Read more
Absolutely lovely place to eat... I'm really recommended this place. Staff is so friendly food is amazing and big portions, very nice and clean place. Can be very busy in times but defiantly worth the visit.
This is a homey restaurant! It was my first time here and I had such a hearty brunch! I got the seaside omelette (my friend got mac and cheese) which were both very filling. I would come again.👍
Nelly's has received a lot of negative publicity in the past for their run-ins with the Alberta Health Services after health inspections but they've been a staple in the neighborhood for many years. I decided that I was going to lift a 3 year embargo and visit them for breakfast ... this morning. Server was pleasant enough and allowed me to seat myself. After agreeing to coffee, which was a mistake as it was really bad, I turned my eye to the menu. No surprises here so I opted for the 'Belly Buster', three eggs, some bacon , french toast(or pancakes) and toast. I was offered hasbrowns or a fruit plate and selected fruit to make my waistline less upset with me. See attached picture to get an idea of why I shouldn't have bothered and gone straight for the hasbrowns. Didn't take long for my food to arrive. Good enough but at $16 with nothing above average, in my opinion this is far too overpriced, even for 17th Avenue. Coffee was refilled once, which was nice, but I thought it would have been bottomless considering I was one of three tables in the whole place. Final Verdict: Embargo is back on. There are other, more interesting breakfast places within a 10 minute walk. Get some exercise and keep walking past Nellies. Read more
I liked the food. Pretty basic stuff. Not too keen on the aesthetics. Borderline cluttered and old. Staff were nice though.
