Peking House 98 - Calgary, Alberta

Two lunch meals, 2 wonton soups, and 2 drinks came to $30. My breaded pork was all pork (though one piece had a lot of fat), the chicken balls are smaller (compared to other places) and have a perfect ratio of bread to chicken; and the rice is delicious. I ... wasn't a huge fan of the ginger beef but my mom loved it! Our chef/server Sam was fantastic and even checked on us to make sure we were satisfied. The food was so good, I did experience that, "I'm full but it's so yummy I'll have just one more bite moment (x10) 😋. If you're looking to go somewhere fancy, this is not it; but, if you're looking to go somewhere to relax and enjoy a good meal, I definitely recommend here. Read more

Very friendly staff but not very good Chinese food unfortunately. They're deep fried dumplings were good. The ginger beef wasn't good, it smelt like old oil and there is barely any crispy breading on the pieces, also barely any sauce to cover the pieces. The fat noodles were just average.

This was my first time ordering from Peking House 98. We ordered 3 dishes plus rice, and there was enough food for dinner, plus tons of leftovers for the next day. The food was delicious and good price. The gentlemen took my order 30 minutes before closing time, he ... was very friendly and the food was perfectly cooked. Under new ownership from an experience and skillful couple. This is a Chinese takeout with seating for about a dozen or so. The decor matches the take out theme and hidden treasures of the food. The food came out quick, hot and fresh. The service is also top notch as well ... and everything was packed to go perfectly. Upon unpacking at home, nothing spilled and it was still hot. Food tastes like quality and love was put into the food. Just the right flavoring and cooking times. I enjoyed the family meal for 2 as it gave great value for the amount you get. We ordered the dinner for 3. Chicken fried rice, hot and sour soup, honey garlic ribs, sweet and sour pork, shanghai noodles, and spring rolls. Everything was good, but I wouldn’t order the honey garlic ribs again. They’re deep fried with batter kind of similar to sweet and sour pork, ... but I just wasn’t a fan of it.
