Came here with a friend on Sunday March 12th 2023. The food was delicious, with lots of variety. The pig buns were cute and tasty. The beef ribs were a bit rubbery with lots of bones. Other than that I will return to try other items that I was too full ... to eat today. Read more

The food is pretty bland and very mediocre. S2, S3, S4 buns were the best things there, specifically the egg yolk bun. The owner is very kind and gives good service. Unfortunately though the food was mostly disappointing. For food quality it's priced ok, you could get a similar meal ... that's better tasting for the same price. If you dine in don't expect much atmosphere, maybe try take out. Read more

The decor is dated and the restaurant is small, but don't let that dissuade you from visiting this hidden gem. The service is wonderful and the owners are genuine and friendly. Prices are reasonable to get this level of dim sum outside of Chinatown. The food is up ... there with the big restaurants in Chinatown as well, and all the dim sum is made in house. Washrooms are clean and parking is plentiful. A great place to hit that dim sum craving if you don't want to head downtown. Read more

The shrimp dumpling and beef tripe were really good, but the hot and sour soup was a bit sweet. The piggy egg yolk buns were cute - make sure you eat them while the are hot!

This is one of the best Chinese food restaurants in Calgary. The food is excellent and the gentleman that owns/operates the place is lovely. Our favourite dish is the Salt & Pepper Squid, it has a nice light batter with a bit of heat. In fact, all of the dishes ... that we've tried here over the years are exceptional, great flavours and little or no MSG... I can tell because I don't get all bloaty or puffy from this like I do from the other cheap western style chinese food. The Magic Bowl Chinese Food has a great Dim Sum menu and everything is made fresh, you can tell. Next time we will try one of his hot pots, they look fantastic. All in all this is one of our favourite date night spots, even though the decor is a little tired, the food more than makes up for it. Read more
