Ginger Beef Express - Calgary, Alberta

First time ordering. Only in Calgary for the night and I have been craving wor wonton for a while. Ordered a couple other dishes (through skip) and qualified for a free dish so that was cool. I thought the portions would be smaller and that’s why I ordered so many ... to try. These portions are a hearty size, I will have leftovers for my daughter to try and this makes me happy 😊 as of the time of writing this I have only tried the pork dumplings and the wonton soup but am very happy with the quality. I ordered through skip and so it was a bit pricey (I think my bill was around $60 with tip) but honestly I could feed three hungry people with this order. Would recommend this location 🙌 Read more

Ginger Beef Express is our go to for the best Chinese food. We have tried many others, but always come back as their Ginger Chicken and Beef can’t be beat! First time ordering. Honestly I’m very disappointed in this food. We got chicken fried rice, lemon chicken and fried chicken. The lemon chicken was pretty disgusting, tasteless and the consistency was mushy. The chicken wings were so bland I don’t even think salt was added. The rice had little rice ... and had no seasoning. I often order the same items from here once every 2 months or so through Skipped. Sometimes the Ginger beef and snp squid is over battered and sometimes its light(er) and crisp. First time ordering the wings today and they were huge lol. They were over salted, but I still ate them. 3 ... stars only because the food quality is inconsistent. 2019 - Went back for Sweet and Sour pork and I continue to be impressed! Veggies are FRESH and a good amount of meat, the sauce is punchy and delicious. Had some Curry Beef as well and it's good - heat is a bit above mild if you're comfortable ... with sriracha. Good neat and excellent vegetables - see new pictures! 2017 - Excellent ginger beef! It doesn't look impressive but that's because it's almost all beef, with enough breading to keep things interesting. Sauce wasn't spicy, but it had some great flavour! Good background flavours on top of the usual ginger beef sauce taste, decent amount but there's so much actual beef that it seems like there isn't enough. I would rate this about two steps better than a certain other ginger beef place on 17th Ave. Enough to have 2-4 meals... though it's so tasty I almost went wanted to just eat it all and be overstuffed.
