We've been going to this restaurant at least 3-4 times a month as a big family group for the last 16 years. This is by far and large our absolute favourite Chinese restaurant in Calgary! If we lived closer, we'd eat here more often. All of my children love the ... food so much. If you want delicious, authentic, Spicy Szechuan cuisine, this is the place! Ignore the other reviews that say the food is flavourless or bland etc. The food is absolutely delicious!! And the servers and the cook are very kind and friendly. They are so accommodating as when my son was a young toddler, they made a special dish of fish just for him. After 15 years, he still loves eating this dish today. It hasn't gotten old. They were so accommodating with all of my children when they were babies and toddlers. We celebrate our birthdays and anniversaries there as it is a very special restaurant to our family. They even gift us with "long life noodles" on our birthdays. I highly recommend the Spicy Szechuan Fish if you can handle Spicy foods. Also recommend the deep fried Spicy pork chops, and the green beans with minced pork. Even though my father is a Chef himself, he loves the food at this restaurant too. It took me 16 years to write this review as I was absolutely shocked and upset to see the bad reviews. Read more
The owner is very welcoming and kind. She gave us extra spring rolls and rice) We ate hot & sour soup and it was really tasty. The large soup size is enough for 2 people. Also, the herbal tea is something 😍 I loved it) To sum up, we liked this place)
I used to eat at this restaurant every time I’m in Calgary years ago, I walked by this place again today and thought I’d try it since it’s been a few years. They’ve added quite a few Cantonese items to their traditional mainland china cuisine, maybe with the hopes of ... getting more customers. There was no customers when I entered the restaurant at 5:15pm. The lady was very nice and friendly but the food was mediocre. We only ordered the sour cabbage fish (酸菜鱼)and Shanghai style pork chop noodle soup (阳春面) as we cannot take left overs on the trip. The sour fish was under cooked and barely sour at all. The pork chop was tasty in the noodle soup, but the soup was bland, it tasted like there was just 1 tsp of soy sauce and nothing else. It is supposed to be a simple noodle soup, but it’s not meant to be tasteless. Overall, the food was tasteless, kind of like eating a watered down instant noodle soup…. Disappointed in the food. Service was ok. Read more
Recently went to this place and had an excellent time. Ordered noodles alongside a soup (not in picture). The server was very nice and polite and despite the restaurant being small it never felt crowded or busy. Honestly some of the best Chinese food I ever had and I would ... definitely go again if I was in the area. It’s in a pretty isolated area so make sure you don’t miss it. Read more
