I can’t find anything to complain about - there is lots of space, staff is friendly and helpful and prompt. There with a group. Buffet was refilled frequently. Had a dedicated server for our group and a separate room. The room however had a gaping hole in the ceiling that distracted from overall visual appearance of the place. Bit crowded at the serving area especially as people wouldn't use both ... sides at once. They kept the free water up.The senior discount of $1 is hardly appropriate should be the usual 10% min especially considering they added gratuity of 18% as a group, not sure at a buffet situation how this is justified? We went when there was no buffet option. It was very quiet, the food was pretty bland with very little sauce, and average for the price point. The server was very sweet, but considering there was not many people in the restaurant the service was very slow with several things ... forgotten. Maybe the buffet is better, we'll try again with the buffet and update the review if needed. Read more

The China Rose has an excellent Chinese buffet that is reasonably priced and three options if you need a private room in a Calgary restaurant. Their main private room is completely closed off with two possible doorways. It comfortably seats 26 around the tables and maybe even up to 30, ... and there is a television mounted to the wall at one end. Great food, great service and the restaurant is beautiful ♥ To those who complain about the food not being "very Chinese" it is Americanized chinese food because we are in North America. It is tailored for the taste of western society. It is definitely one of the better Chinese places ... in the city. And the buffet price is a steal for the quality of the food. Takeout is made fresh in the kitchen when it is ordered and prepared in a timely manner. Read more
