We dined here several times. Went here again with a friend as we were telling him that we like this hotpot place in Chinatown as he came from Ontario just visiting Calgary for the first time. Nothing crazy to complain about the food but the service is bad. They don’t ... even attend to their costumers and you have to call their attention for a number of times. We had a great time dining here but as we went to pay for our food. As usual if we weren’t happy with the service we will not give tip as tip stands for ‘To Insure Prompt Service’. We weren’t satisfied. The waiter/cashier asked me that “is there something wrong with the food as you didn’t add tip” like srsly?? Is tip being forced now? We felt like we were obliged to give them tip!! I will never come back here again. Dragon Pot is the best place to go for a hotpot night! Read more
My boyfriend and I come here often and we love the large selection of items to order for hot pot. It's usually pretty quiet here and not a lot of people until after 6pm. Restaurant itself is cold, floors could use a deep cleaning. Washrooms are scary looking. Doesn't really feel inviting ... but we love hot pot so much we don't mind coming here. If you're looking for a cozy ambiance this place may not be what you're looking for lol. Read more
I have been here multiple times. Atmosphere is average, but they open until later at night, food is good, friendly service, so overall drop by for a casual enjoyable hot pot time with friends and family.
I like how we get our own hotpot. I recommend the Hong Kong satay broth. I tried the Thai one and didn’t really like it. Overall a decent place. Selection was good. Sauce station was good. Not too busy. What more can you ask for in a all you can ... eat hot pot place. More of a 3.5 than a 4 but I’m generous today. Read more
This joint is legit! When I walked in the door with my dining partner, she looked a bit squeamish and to me that was the first great sign. Having lived in Asia for over a decade, there are certain factors in a spot like this that contribute to the “authenticity score”. IYKYK A ... bunch of those boxes were checked right after walking in the door. We assumed it was a la carte before walking in but it’s predominantly and all you can eat 2 hour deal. They have a decent selection of broths to choose from to get you started. I went with 九州豚骨 and she chose the herbal chicken. The trick with a place like this is to order something super basic with the broth. The sauce bar has a world of ingredients to choose from so you can make all your own modifications to the broth afterward. The selections on the menu are very decent. The beef cuts for example are great with a lot of marbling. Knocked out round one and by that point had the broth nicely modified with lots of flavour packed in. With the amount of selection and time you’re given, there’s no way you’re walking out of there hungry. I ordered the sour plum drink. It’s Asia sour so not really sour at all. I almost wanted to hit it with some vinegar from the sauce bar. Still good though. Come here and enjoy yourself if you don’t think chicken balls and red sauce is something you should see on the menu. Will totally go back some time. Thanks! Read more
