Pies Plus Cafe - Calgary, Alberta

I've known this pie place since I was a child. And it is still my favourite pie place. It definitely beats pie junkie by far and/or other pie places that's come up and have closed. My favourite is the banana cream pie but they have so many pies that are ... wonderful. It's not too sweet which is the best compliment you can give. Most desserts are too sweet but this is exactly right. I would purposely drive from the NW to eat here. They also have a delicious chicken pot pie that actually has proper stuffing ratio (veggies, chicken). Would definitely recommend this place! And they give 10% off if paying with cash. This place would be HEAVEN if not for the terrible music. The guy in the back is super nice. The gal at the counter could be friendlier, though - a little old lady asked about a pie and she snarked “it’s there on the sign”. 😬 Amazing pies will keep me ... coming back. Pie is my fave. Read more

Great place for pie and a catch up with friends. They always have a great selection of pies that are made from scratch. They also offer soup, sandwiches and quiche as well if you want a meal before having some of their delicious pies. Friendly staff ... and ample parking. Coconut cream pie is the BEST for summer dessert! It’s a nice compliment to their latte or a hot chai tea latte. Apple Peach pie was also good with loads of fresh fruit fillings inside. The crust were not too flaky or dry, just enough. We would definitely be back ... for sure to try their MEAT pies!! Read more
