Phil & Sebastian Coffee - Calgary, Alberta

My husband is a Phil&Sebastian coffee lover, I used to go to the farmer's market location to take whole bean coffee. I went to Chinook Centre a couple of days ago to get the a Latte but a white guy cashier looked like being in bad mood so I didn't pay ... tips for some reasons. The cafe looks great! Service cashier last Jul 30th seemed like they did not want to be there. They tend to make coffee TOO sweet. I read reviews here where they respond you can ask for half sweet, but I don’t think they should be too darn sweet to the point ... where you can’t taste the coffee either. Beans are always good when dialed in at home, but cafe quality getting a bit out of touch. Donuts are great! Chocolatine is dense and dry though! Coconut ube matcha is pretty in photos, but tastes all matcha. They also use pre mixed matcha from a squirt bottle, for matcha loving folks. Read more

I ordered vanilla bean and for me it was extremely sweet. I only finished half. Maybe it's supposed to be sweet here but other coffee places wasn't overly sweet for comparison.

I ordered a decaf americano...they made it with caffeine, good thing I asked again...but the second cup of coffee was awful too, the coffee was sour...I added milk but nothing changed. But the boston cream was excellent.

Great coffee! I came across Phil & Sebastian when I visited Calgary last year, and now that I’m back in town for stampede I popped in for a visit. There’s a few locations around Calgary, I believe; I visited both the location by the river and the location at Chinook ... Mall - the latter had donuts and they all looked amazing, but I opted for the ube and coconut which ended up being a good choice! Highly recommend if you’re in Calgary. Read more
