Yellow Door Bistro - Calgary, Alberta

Great atmosphere and service. We went for brunch and the server was great with offering coffee refills and the food was good. My only complaint was that my sister and I asked for soft poached eggs and we received hard poached eggs. It was still good though.

We are having a staycation in Hotel Arts and came into Yellow Door for a couple of appys. Well, let me tell you. Chad was Amazing. Made sure we knew all the highlights of the menus and took the time to chat throughout his service. We ended up with a ... delicious Australian wine (Vasse Felix) and were able to have all our food needs met (mine being seafood and truffle fries (the oysters were amazing and the mussels on point), all whilst respecting my husband’s seafood allergy. What is so cool about this place is the Alice in wonderland theme. I believe that kids would love it even though it is really set up for adults or older kids. We went in Sunday and because they locate right behind the arts hotel they do cook for the hotel ... guests. The first thing I liked it is the waiter brought it to attention that if we order other than the buffet style, but it would take a little bit longer. because they also cook for the pool side of the hotel. I’ve also have been there during the week and they had a lot more choices such as pancakes which by the way were very good. however, this time the pancake was not on the menu and unless you took the buffet, there really wasn’t much more variety of food. Outstanding dining option, both in the pool and outside of the pool in the regular restaurant, service was decent until I only tipped 25% and the server started acting weird, other than that, it was absolutely perfect

We were seated promptly and the staff was very courteous about seating us in a private area. We ordered the oysters as an appetizer they came quickly with some excellent condiments and were delicious and sweet. There was a wait for dinner but it was worth it! My arctic char ... had a perfectly crisp skin and my husband's beef rib ragu was spicy and amazing. So satisfying. We had carrot cake pudding with salted caramel sauce and ice cream.
