Tonic Kitchen + Bar - Calgary, Alberta

My partner and I had a fabulous experience at the Tonic (Kitchen and Bar). We stayed at the Applause hotel in Calgary, Alberta for two nights. Breakfast was included with our stay. My partner and I both ordered the double-egg breakfast, which came with two eggs (any preparation style), toast, ... home fries, and a choice of bacon or sausage, with juice, coffee, or tea as the beverage. The food was very delicious, freshly made, and arrived expeditiously. However, the star of show was our lovely server named Arlene. We had the pleasure of being attended by Arlene the past two days, and she was extremely polite, kind, and a joy to converse with. She made the made the experience really lovely! I was craving an Eggs Benedict breakfast and found this gem online. Delicious eggs Benedict, great coffee and lovely service. The food is great! I have pretty much tried everything on the menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I must say I was never disappointed. Very diverse menu! The portions are really good and the pricing is still pretty decent for the quality of the food. The atmosphere is ... great, the staff are awesome. It's classy, yet you don't feel like you need to be dressed to the nines to come in and enjoy a drink or meal. Lots of TVs for sports and news. I would say it's one of the best hotel restaurant/ bars I have been to in years. Shout out to Mary Grace who is always serving breakfast with a great attitude and a wonderful smile! Anna is top notch! Fantastic service and the breakfast was one of the best. Best rye toast 😋 I had a burger in the bar last evening too and it’s definitely recommended !!!! The Caesar was on point!

Great Food! Some of the friendliest, wittiest girls serving there. We’ve stayed at the hotel multiple times, wing night on Sundays is outstanding. Nice bar with a casual atmosphere. We will definitely stay here in the future and utilize this place. Love this hotel too, roof top outdoor hot tubs ... are so nice. Perfect adult staycation! Read more
