Big T’s BBQ and Smokehouse - Calgary, Alberta

We are from NC, home of great BBQ, but Big T’s is every bit as good as anything we have at home. We had the Pulled pork and brisket sandwiches and they were delicious. So were the garlic green beans. Service was good, too.

Never again. I arrived at 5:25 pm, asking for a table for one. A guy look around and then no feedbacks. I sit down and wait. After a while, another waitress asked me what I am waiting for. Hahh? “Table”, no one comes to follow up. Fine. Then they said no table ... for me, no table for one. But tables for 2, for 3, even for 6. A waiter asks me if I would like to come back later. So it will be easier to take a table during peak dinner hour?? HA HA HA. Don’t kidding me I am not a junior. This is funny. I ordered a takeaway finally ( I hope I didn’t why I pay that much amount for that, a good lesson). A side is missing (I am so disappointed!.）. Very OK meal. Host was nice but our server had zero personality, seemed checked out. Ribs were average, they provided 3 sauces and I tried all 3 and they were very basic, not very flavourful sauces. Hush puppies were good, but corn bread was so dry. I liked the spicy ... slaw, but it had the spice level of black pepper. Overall, an OK meal at an OK price. Wow..is all I can say...went to BigTs to check it out for my sisters job(they are looking for a new catering company, yup they cater).. INCREDIBLE.. Hannah our server was polite, attentive and knowledgeable. Then the food, we all had something different..I chose the Southern smoked brisket sandwich with au ... jus, smashed potatoes, and get this, spicy, coleslaw. The whole experience was amazing , the sandwich was massive and I look very forward to eating the other 1/2..and the spicy BBQ sauce..so mind-blowing I didn't finish my au jus!!...and then we had the Cheesecake..smoky maple..I just can't express how flavorful it was. I knew I was in for a treat when I looked through the menu. Big T's has all the BBQ staples you'd expect. I had pulled pork and brisket with a side of spicy slaw and beans. Everything was outstanding and the house sauces took my plate to the next ... level. Can't wait to go back. Read more
