This is a great little spot that reminds me a bit of Canadian Brewhouse in the feel of the place. It's a bar/restaurant which is great if you want that for going out with your kids, BUT the vibe seems to cater to a younger crowd (which by younger I ... mean 17-22), so it did feel a bit awkward for my husband and I surrounded by what felt like kids even though we are only early 30 ourselves. Went for brunch. Avobowl was right amount of crunchy but could use more avocado. Hubby ordered bacon burger and the bacon was thick.

I had the honour of having a special celebration with family/friend's at National Westhills. What made the event so special was the establishment itself. I dealt with Emma first and she was fantastic, she communicated well, organized our time and date. Next the staff was sooo accommodating on letting us ... bring items ahead of time as we were welcomed by the hostess, a great server and the chef. They set an area aside for approximately 30+ people and it was all set up ready for guests. Our server Dante was the star of the evening! He took care of the entire group single handedly with orders of drinks and food with ease. He even spoke to our gluten free guest personally to find something for her and was very successful. He kept up with clearing, refilling orders and when it was time for cake he was so accommodating with extra plates and clean up. I cannot thank him enough, bravo, your head office should be so proud to have you! Later we spoke to the manager Alyssa on duty to give our accolades and she was lovey! The chef came out and we thanked him as he did a fantastic job keeping up with our orders! The drinks, the food and the staff were top notch! They have great special deals throughout the week! We came in Friday afternoon for their $5 drafts. They have a wide selection of craft beers, as well as cocktails. Tried their buffalo wings, which has the right amount of spice and zing! Service were fast and the crew was attentive ... to our needs. National west hills is definitely a hopping place! The room is full, and the volume is loud on a Friday night. The atmosphere was relaxed and had some natural wood touches. I would say the service was good; but nothing over the top. Food was delivered promptly, which was nice, and ... there were no delays when waiting for beverages. National did that very well. Where I scored a touch lower would be on pricing and uniqueness of foods such as pizzas. I found the pizza to be really light on toppings, and not overly flavourful (although the mushroom pizza was a hit with my friend). I have eaten here before and enjoyed the crispy chicken and the burgers with fries. Those dishes would likely be more of my recommendation to try. The value of food compared to price was more prevalent, as compared to the over priced pizza with very little WoW factor. Read more
