Hexters - Calgary, Alberta

This is one of my favorite places to go too. The staff is very attentive and work very hard to ensure that your time at Hexters is a memorable one. The food is delicious and not overpriced. I've cashed in on the VLTS there a few times and visibly noticed ... how clean and professional there kitchen is because u can see inside from the cash out till. Good service, prices and atmosphere. Recommend the karaoke on Friday and Saturday. The Eastern European waitress is awesome and did everything in her power to make out night a success. This was a good jam afternoon. Music was really well done and entertaining. Their format of hosting a jam session should be incorporated in all the other venues. It is very effective in giving patrons full value for their visit. Food appies are very typical but overcooked and the ... service a little slow only because the waitress was swamped. Having said that, the she maintained a very good sense of humor in taking resposibility for the food taking so long. She deserves recognition for a job well done or at least a very good tip. We went to Hexters Pub last Sunday because we heard they had a good house band. It was an excellent band! Apparently they have been playing the blues and funk there for 14 years. Who knew? I have been going to Hexters for Karaoke for over a year and I love the atmosphere. Even if the people are not there to sing Karaoke they all seem as if they are enjoying the entertainment no matter how the singer sounds or what the singer sings. I love ... the sound system and the stage and the food is good. They make an excellent baked macaroni and cheese and I love their salads. The management has been very nice to me and I have received several compliments on my singing. If someone wants me to sing a certain style of music they come and ask me. If I can I will sing it. Even when they had Karaoke on Sunday the Blues Band was very supportive. I also enjoyed coming and listening to them right before Karaoke began. I also like how the new Saturday karaoke show starts at 8pm. The hosts are amazing and always try to make it entertaining and fun while making you sound like a pro singer singing on a stage by mixing the vocals and music just perfect. Read more
