Container Bar - Calgary, Alberta

A gf and I have had this spot on our radar for quite some time. We both had a very different expectation of what we found. I don’t know why, but I expected it to actually be a container which was a very cool concept. The furniture was just regular ... patio furniture and ambiance wasn’t super welcoming. There was music until 11;15 and then they turned it off. I assume they had closed but no one told us about this. I ordered a paper plane (which didn’t list lemon juice in the ingredients on the menu so I asked to include that). It came a completely different colour than I have ever had and it did not taste right. The server was lovely and said the bartender would remake. It was a bette colour the second time, but heavy on bourbon flavour. A paper plane had equal parts bourbon, amaro, aperol and lemon juice. You shouldn’t taste any of them strongly. My gf ordered a classic margarita and the first was super salty. Not the rim, the actual drink. It was remade, but then all we could taste was cointreau. They do make a good Moscow mule though. Fun atmosphere, great drinks and service! We stopped by for a quick drink and snacks. Our server was very friendly and accommodating. Drinks were tasty and the food was excellent. It’s a nice little spot to hang out and chat. Although we didn’t stay for very long, I’ll definitely come back ... to try more items on the menu. Read more

The mini hotdogs are THE BOMB!! Everything was super delish and original. Nice music. Service was fabulous too.

I loved everything about this place, drinks, service, and food were great! We had corn dogs with wholegrain mustard, yum! We had a few different cocktails my favorite being the lime margarita, the service was great with them being kind to me a deaf person, and patient with my overly conversational ... hubby lol! That patio is picnic benches which is okay but they are dog friendly which is nice and have blankets if you are cold! The ambience is neat bar is nicely decorated! Love it here, oh and prices reasonable but happy hour awesome price! All day Sunday is best. Read more

This is a cool place to go on a nice day! All the seating is outside, which I like. It is associated with The Wine Bar/Brasserie so you get some delicious food here as well. Love the small space outdoor concept. The drinks we're also awesome. I recommend the "Total ... Equinox" coctail which has gin and was crazy delicious (it has mint and ginger beer in it as well.
