Captain’s Sports Lounge and Grill - Calgary, Alberta

I've been to captains a few times, a bit apart each time. Every time I go back I remember why I stopped going. We came tonight for the wing night and song bingo (DJ Arminhammer is awesome). We arrived at around 6:30PM and it was not busy, we ordered drinks ... and told our waitress we would like to order wings she said "ill be right back to take your wing order". Then stood at the computer for a while, were patient people so we waited. She came, took our order and it was an hour before we received our wings. While waiting we asked twice for her to come over so we could order our second order so we did not have to wait as long, again she stood at the computer or went every where else but our table. When she finally did come over there was no apology and we had finished eating our first batch once we finally received them. On a previous time, I did ask about the slowness of the wings and was informed "we only have two fryers". Here is a suggestion: do not offer a wing night if you cannot keep up. An hour wait is an unacceptable amount of time to wait. There was mistakes made with our drinks, and I ordered the John Candy wings (maple syrup & bacon) and was served just maple syrup covered wings. If it was not for the much enjoyed song bingo, I doubt this place would survive the night between the bad service and amount of mistakes I was very unimpressed. Ever since jenna and the friday night cook resigned, the place has gone way down, this evening june 21 i had come in fairly late and ordered a club house sandwich with mayo on the side...no butter no cheese...they got thay right, but the bread was stale and the lettuce ... was rotton... it was a very expensive piece of chicken and some bacon...brought it to the servers attention and nothing was done about it..i only seen the server 2 times my whole visit. Food not a five cuz the pizza is really not good but the wings, calamari, and the Mozza burger have all been amazing! And try My servers' Gin Ceasars ..yum! My server Janna/Jenna is always Amazing! The Atmosphere can be touch and go, the VLTs are only 5 in number AND ... some customers hog and or play more than one at a time leaving others not able to enjoy. Karoke night was OK but the crowd needs to get into it more imho! Game nights cool, superbowl was good, and local talent nights are alright. Definitely a place for good wings/food and good service! Wow. Nice place but after get your drinks we waited for 20-25 mins with no service. We finally just asked for the bill and left. It was no busy, two waitresses on duty and only about 15 people in the place.

The atmosphere and food were good. Lots of Tvs to watch sports. They also do little specials when the Calgary Flames are playing. Go Leafs Go! Haha. Our pizza was well done and very delicious, we ordered the viking pizza. Our poutine was amazing, the gravy was mint 👌🏼 The ... reasoning for the 4 out of 5 stars is because of our waitress. We are pretty understanding people and understand sometimes you have your bad and good days. But she was very up and down with her mood.
