Fantastically amazing beer selection, anything you could want! Good atmosphere and a great starting point to any night out.

Excellent food (bison burgers) and small but decent beer selection. Good atmosphere and decent enough service.

The worst service. My table had ordered a somewhat large order.. Our server (Antonia) did not bother to write anything down although I had customized my meal a bit.. as soon as she walked away I said to my friend I bet you she's going to mess up at least 1 ... order. Next thing you know she messes up the order but she pretty much insisted I just take the meal because she didn't want to take the food back because the kitchen is "yelling" at her. I've worked as a server for 4 years, and if I had ever messed up someones order I would NEVER try to make the customer feel guilty into taking a meal they didn't want. Although she did apologize, it was very obvious she was annoyed with the fact that I wouldn't take the meal how they made it. Read more

I was briefly the Chef here so maybe my opinion is a little biased but I'm not an employee anymore so I think I can speak my mind. Buzzards and Bottlescrew Bills has been around for almost 30 years and that is really saying something in our little city of Calgary. ... It's a staple and it's been consistently doing great for years. This place is family owned and operated and really does care about their customers. The list of first for this restaurant is crazy....first patio in Calgary...first place to have Corona, etc. They also have a staggering selection of beer. I had a great time running the kitchen. I learned how to cook some crazy stuff like prairie oysters, bison tongue, etc. But, I also enjoyed cooking every cut of beef imaginable...ribeye, flatiron, sirloin, bone-in ribeye, tenderloin, tri-tip, etc. I also took pride in keeping some of the staples the same...like their burgers which we always made in house and grilled to order. Seems basic but so many people cut corners and get pre-made. I also sort of miss cooking chicken wings....my bistro is French and a bit fancy so unless it's for me... In a city of ever changing places to eat this is one that really does embody the spirit of Alberta and certainly should remain so. You won't be disappointed. Read more
