Blind Beggar Pub - Calgary, Alberta

This place is pretty good! We went there to watch Elijah Lucian, who was amazing! Great music. The atmosphere is nice but the space can get a little tight, despite being a decently sized pub. The food is generally really good and the service is more hit than miss.

The bar doesn't fill your shots so they're cheating you out of money. Not one shot or drink we had was a full shot. The comedy night was good to try but like any stand up the comedians were hit or miss. They have a gluten free pizza that's celiac ... friendly but the crust is weird and the cheese isn't cheese. Well I have been here a couple of times but this was the best time I ever have had. For a Friday night it was not very busy which was nice, I know, I know who wants to hang out in a slow place hmmmm not 1. Not busy 2. ... Cold beer 3, three different bands and 4. Up front with no. One in front of me, yes I will take it. The atmosphere here is good they have a great little stage for local Tallent and the room actually sounded good. The staff here is awesome and from what I could tell the food looked very good. I see two of the band's performing and the one I saw was Bad Boys Of Bedlam which was very good, they play a mix of both new and old rock and the set list of songs was amazing this band is pure rock no Doubt about it. If you can get up front in a booth it is a great vantage point to.see the band's, the other band was sky scraper which was good if you are into loud death metal which I was not so l left at that point along with the crowd that was there. Overall good place just not good location being in front of the beer marquee ( The old back ally) I will definately go back I had a really good time and so did the people I was with. Cheers! Amazing live music venue, friendly and attentive staff, and decently priced drinks! Had a lot of fun here the other night and would definitely visit again!

Our band plays here on occasion, and I'm also an avid customer. Best local talent around, and the food is incredible by any standard, and not just because they are a live music venue. Staff are always amazing, and eager to serve. Sound guy on Fridays is incredible, and listens ... to all bands all night to make sure the sound is right. This place has local band's backs, and is great for anyone else who wants to enjoy music, and great eats and drinks. Read more
