I want to say kudos to the staff. There was only one waitress serving about 14 tables. Ordered food which took about 45 minutes to get, and the roast beef was like four days old and tasted like rubber. Would have sent it back but the waitress was way too ... busy. We stopped here for a mid-afternoon bite while running errands in the neighborhood. The place was pretty quiet, but I could easily imagine this casual pub being absolutely packed in the evenings. Nice friendly service, spacious establishment with nice dark decor, decent selection of typical pub food & drinks. Regarding ... the food: don’t hold your breath for perfection here. The sides of gravy, as well as the au jus for the beef dip, are disappointingly minuscule. My steak sandwich was tasty but not med-rare as ordered. This used to be one of my favourite places to go for wings and crush a few beers. Me and the wife went last night and were served chicken bones. They have obviously changed there wing supplier to save money. We were not given napkins, a plate or wet naps. We ... had to go to the bar to get some ourselves after attempting to flag the server. Came in to kill an hour, had a good pour of Kilkenny, a good burger with great bacon (Bacon Bacon & Cheddar), and the most outstanding onion rings I've had to date in a Calgary pub. Straight up 'rink-style' batter and fried to perfection. Service was also very pleasant, so ... all around good hour and I'll come back if I'm in the area again. Read more

Was there yesterday and was impressed how Judy the waitress showed great people skills. She really sold the specials and handled the rowdier regulars quite well. I would give her 5 stars, but the bar itself needs work. Food was good, but they could work on the happy hour prices. ... Saving 35 cents a drink seems a little cheap. Read more
