We had some delicious beef noodles for lunch at Calan Beef Noodle. We ordered Combo A that comes with beef shanks/ seasonal appetizer and tea flavour boiled egg. We chose the thick noodles to go with the (1) Hand Pulled Noodle in Beef Soup and some flat & wide noodles ... to go with the (2) Hand Pulled Noodle with Pickled Sour Mustard in Beef Soup. The noodles tasted delicious and very appetizing! It was fun to see the chef making the hand pulled noodles right in front of us. This way we know the noodles are made fresh right before our eyes! My first time in Calan Beef Noodle and I loved it. I ordered the thick noodles and I like the chewiness of it. The broth was also good - it tasted like star anise or cloves. I ordered the beef combo with the two appetizers. Delish!
We both ordered no. 1 and 7, combo A and it was more than enough for the 2 of us. The broth of the braised beef was superb. Will definitely come back and try the other dishes.
A nice looking Chinese beef noodle soup spot along Centre Street! I've been here twice now, each visit separated by a few years. But unfortunately during both visits, the noodle soups just weren't up to par. They were a bland the first time, and way too salty the second. Which ... is unfortunate because the staff are very nice and the seating area is comfortable and clean as well. Noodles here and hand made, and they're quite good overall. Soft and chewy, na dhte portions are decent too. The prices are reasonable enough, but I just can't find myself recommending this place unless you're really craving this type of food. I ordered the beef noodle soup and it was alright, the soup tasted really salty and and ... the noodles were hard to chew. The tomato and egg fried noodles were good!
