I went with a group of friends, they all enjoyed the food but as a vegan I wouldn't recommend it at all! Nothing is vegan, the kind waiters tried to help and checked with the kitchen, I ended up ordering salad with no cheese (full price!). I ordered a drink ... but never got it. Pasta is always very well done here. I live in the area and my family and I have been coming to this place for a long time. Always reliable. Can get a little noisy on game nights, but all in good spirit as we usually cheer for the same team ... as their other patrons. Read more

I’ve been here twice now, and I honestly have to leave a review because I’ve been blown away both times. I was there on Wednesday with some girl friends for a little girl dinner. They had 1/2 price bottles of wine as their drink special, and the ones we decided to ... get were great. The Anno Domini Vineyards rosé was so good that we ended up buying a second bottle. We also got the calamari, charcuterie board, and carpaccio; all of which I’d highly recommend trying. I don’t remember our server’s name that night, but she was incredibly accommodating and polite. I came again the following Sunday with another girl friend, and we had a classy little dinner. Our server Courtney was phenomenal; her service and communication were great. My friend and I ordered an appetizer (truffle parmesan chips), entrees (aaa New Yorker steak and the truffle mushroom pizza), and dessert (cream catalana de vainilla), and the quality of everything was amazing. Just love going to Merchant's. We have enjoyed everything we have ordered at Merchant's. We have been here many times and enjoyed meals from their varied menu to specialty menus for St. Patrick's Day when it was very Guinness focused. Every meal is well presented and fresh ... and perfectly prepared. Pasta is cooked al dente, as it should be. Always fresh and interesting options to choose from. Love that they have a nice wine list and lots of on tap beers as well, including Guinness, as it is my favourite and pairs very well with the Guinness battered fish & chips. Our "go-to" restaurant in Calgary. Service is always attentive and friendly. There is also a lovely patio in the front of the restaurant which is open to the main building so you can choose to sit in either area. Parking can be tricky but worth it. Read more

Went here for lunch on a nice day for lunch after seeing their large patio out front. My wife had the Chicken Brie Sandwich that featured sun dried tomato paste, garlic aioli and arugula on ciabatta which she really liked. She had the house salad which she really enjoyed but the ... $3 extra substitution seemed steep. I had the fish and chips and was surprised how good it was considering it was cod. The batter was thin and crispy which let the fish star in the dish. The french fries were tasty and crispy as well. Read more
