Yaguchiya Ramen is more than a place to eat, its a culinary experience. Yacuchjya specializes in the Iekei style ramen. I got the Shio Ramen, my partner got the Vegan. What Yaguchiya does right is providing multiple choices for your flavour strength, and noodle doneness, this allows you to create your own balance ... of flavours to match your style. I went with strong and medium noodle, it waa god tier. I added garlic and chilli to my preference. Simple and authentic Japanese ramen. I tried the tonkotsu ramen, with extra flavoured egg. The flavour was a little more subtle than eggs at other shops, but was appropriately soft in the centre, and I enjoyed it. The chashu was tender and fatty, but, again, with a milder flavour than ... some places. The soup was rich and flavorful, and had a really authentic flavour and feel to it. Delicious. I really liked the place setting on the table. Very sparse, basically empty, save for a tray of condiments, and all the authentic condiments condiments are there. I personally like a small dash of pepper and a little garlic paste. The whole restaurant really has a simplicity about it that makes it feel like a real ramen joint. People need to remember that ramen is a food that you eat at 2 am after a night of drinking to keep from puking. It's not fine dining, and there's no need to complicate it with trendy new ingredients. If you spent an extended amount of time in Japan, and want to relive those nights out with one of Japan's greatest comfort foods, Yaguchiya is a good option. Read more
