The quality is extremely disappointing. Sushi in plastic packaging has better presentation. Their dynamite roll has 70% rice, and they ignore instructions on packaging. We wanted to have tempura separately from the udon so that it does not become soggy, but instead they give us plain rice with tempura on ... top, NO SOUP. Read more

We ordered, toro negiri, spicy tuna cone. I dont think the fish is fresh... few hours later, my girlfriend is having stomach pains, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.

This restaurant has replaced another sushi joint in the same location - and this one is excellent, in my opinion. I can't say I'm a food expert, but their ingredients are fresh and invariably taste great. The portions are large and inexpensive. Their signage has a fair few spelling errors, ... but the service has been nothing but friendly and accommodating. Big portions and very fresh sashimi. Their spicy rock and rolls are the bomb! ! Very good customers service.

Recently renovated, reworked, and renamed "Hastings Sushi", Ting Sushi is now trying for a hipper bar-type vibe. However, my girlfriend and I won't be going back. Most crucially, the food: most the rolls were different than labelled & pictured on the menu, including & discluding different ingredients. This prompted us to ... order things that we did not want to eat (a couple examples - their yam roll is actually a sweet potato roll, and they soaked one roll in an unappetizing sauce that was not advertised). Also, all our food came at a different time - my girlfriend got served first, then me 5 minutes later, and then our "starter" came out. Furthermore, the music was way too loud and intrusive, and borderline offensive - if you go, be sure that you like obnoxious trap & dubstep music (of which the CD was regularly skipping). Despite us being the only customers, our server disappeared for 15+ minutes while we were finished and aching to pay & leave the bad environment. So it became up to us to confront the kitchen in order to pay. Lastly, and most trivially (yet perhaps representative of their attention to quality and detail) they couldn't be bothered to even spell check the menu. Right on the front: "Freshy" and "Healty" food, and inside, "Combonations". We left $30 short, disgruntled, and my girlfriend was still hungry due to her unpalatable food. Thankfully there was a Fresh Slice pizza down the street. For the sake of their business, I really hope Hastings Sushi steps up their game. Read more
