We had six people and ordered the MVP platter. Everything in there was very tasty. If you don’t know how to order, can try MVP. They have all different kind of meats in there, salads, potatoes, and breads. Yum yum! But the store smelled very smoky. The smoke prob from the ... kitchen. Read more
It’s a little hole in the wall and a well kept secret in Burnaby! The resto is nestled in a little plaza but once you enter you feel very comfortable. Our server was so nice and welcoming and let us take our time browsing the menu. I went with two ... friends and we had quite the feast!!! We had the Ushtipci, which are buttermilk fritters, accompanied by salted butter and a red pepper spread. Delicious when butter and dip are mixed! We had the Njegushki steak(pork tenderloin wrapped in prosciutto and stuffed with smoked Gouda); the Karadordjeva Schnitzel (pork tenderloin with kaymak cheese), and the meat platter for 1( which fed three ppl!). Everything tasted fresh and delicious. The portions were very generous, so we were able to take leftovers. Highly recommend not eating beforehand! You’ll be fed very well here! The Slavic beer tasted really good too! Read more
Ate here last night for the first time. Incredible food and wonderful atmosphere. Most of the restaurant had been reserved but the staff was very accommodating. Maybe phone ahead to check seating availability. The food was incredible, Every bite from every dish we tried was delicious. The portions were huge as well, ... we both went in hungry and left with about half of our meals in takeaway containers. Will absolutely be back to try more from this place, highly recommended. Visiting Tenen was a culinary delight! From the first bite to the last, every dish was a burst of flavor and authenticity. I tried the lamb and rainbow trout, two dishes I hold to high standards due to my Persian background, and they were cooked to perfection, rivaling even the ... best homemade versions. The owner's warm hospitality added to the experience, making us feel right at home. The service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Tenen offers more than just great food; it provides an immersive cultural experience. The atmosphere is vibrant and inviting, making you feel like you've stepped into a Serbian home. From the decor to the music, every detail adds to the authenticity of the experience. It's not just a meal; it's a journey through culture and cuisine. A truly memorable dining experience! Read more
There were able to accommodate for our large group. It is our first time that we tried Serbian food. We found this restaurant on google and wanted to give it a try because some of the reviewers posted that they have a buffet. But they didn't have a buffet and ... the server said "we never had a buffet" which seems strange because posts had pictures of the menu and the buffet prices as well. Anyways, the food was delicious! The bread that comes in the appetizer is really good. Kind of expensive but we think it was worth it so ordered that bread again. It's similar to cheese bread in a Brazilian steakhouse. Pros: It is Serbian food, try it if you haven't already. It is good food. Cons: There were some people sitting by the entrance and SMOKING constantly! Not sure if they are the owners or the customers. Their cigarette smell mixed up with our food with the restaurant leaving its door open during operation hours. Read more
