Gal Chae - Burnaby, British Columbia

I have been going to Gal Chae for almost 20+ years. The new owners who took over in 2022 have cleaned the place up and made it the best Karaoke in town. It's been a couple years since I came here but the owners remembered me :) They improved the ... sound system plus offer a choice of a touchscreen system with youtube or a Korean Karaoke machine. The youtube option is a huge deal because you have access to all songs of any language. They are still open late ( until 4am on weekends). I paid for an hour but it felt much longer I think they gave me a little extra time. This is a place you come to after drinking and partying to sober up and sing your heart out. They have snacks and non-alcoholic drinks if you need. The sound system is so balanced; it is really perfect in my opinion. The decor hasn't changed which adds to the class of this place; kinda retro. Since Gal Chae Karaoke is one of the oldest in Vancouver I hope they keep things the way they are because it's very nostalgic and retro; quite unique compared to others. A piece of Burnaby's history. Actually, please never change. It is perfect the way it is :). The new owners have made this a safe and better Karaoke to come to at anytime. $45/hour for a group of 4 which is reasonable. Was allowed to bring in drinks and snacks. Youtube feature was awesome. Would come here again 10/10

Went on a Friday Night, room was available didn't need a reservation. Very clean and staff was very friendly. Will defiantly be going back again. Getting songs from YouTube make finding your favorite songs so... much easier!

Interesting experience, we went in on a Saturday and got a room for 6 of us at $55 for the hour. We werent too clear on the fact that the limit was one hour and then had to leave after the matter of fact. The owner was very kind and did provide ... us an extra 15 minutes. There's is no alcohol served here, I would keep this in mind if you plan on staying for a while and were expecting drinks. Positive experience, the interior was clean. :) Read more

My new favourite karaoke spot! Wait was very short, the owners were extremely friendly, the atmosphere was uplifting, comfortable, and hospitable. The price was reasonable for karaoke in the lower mainland. The room was also very clean with a garbage can and sanitary mic covers. The song selection itself was vast ...
