Waves Coffee - Burnaby, British Columbia

It's really cute and spacious place. Nice and bright as well as friendly staff and very clean. The coffee is much better than say other chain coffee places too! More flavor and way more options. 10/10.

Exceptionally bad service. When I arrived, I was the only customer at the counter. Barrista was on his smartphone, and he didn't even look at me. After about 30 seconds, I said "excuse me". He responded "just a moment", and continued talking on his phone for another 3-4 minutes. There ... were two other male barristas behind the pastries counter but none of them moved to help me. Finally I asked for medium decaf coffee, and he said they don't have any. I asked if he can make decaf Canadiano (I know from experience that some shops don't have drip decaf at the afternoon). It felt like pooling teeth, like he didn't want to do any work. He charged me $4.98 for medium. Later I checked their menu online and they advertise $4.10 for medium Canadiano. Anyway coffee was watered down, and off tasting. When I was back in my car I took just few sips, and dumped it later. BTW, few days later I was in Waves on Edmonds at the same time of day. I had drip medium decaf for $3, and it tasted great. The service was impeccable. I recommend Waves on Edmonds in Burnaby. Avoid Waves on Hastings in Burnaby! Read more

The vibe is super cool, modern, cozy and laidback. A very new and upcoming chain location and is by far the nicest I have visited beforehand. Im an avid fan of this fantastic chain and awesome coffee joint so took FULL advantage of grabbing a To Good To Go haul and ... boy did I get a surprise! A filo'loaded Pastry army equipped to take down anyone, fantastic value and great, fresh products made from natural and minimum ingredients. I managed to pickup: Spiced Apple Pumpkin Muffin Candycane Muffins Cappuccino Loaf Pumpkin Orange Scone Everything was super yummy, wholesome and fresh with great flavors of home baking style goodies. Friendly people and super cozy location. Treat customers good and look after you. Place is a clean and welcoming atmosphere. Free parking around and after some shopping close by you can have hot drink.

Picked up a Too Good To Go order from here! Satisfying bag with 4 coffee house baked goods/treats. The cheesecakes were moist and nicely packaged so they retained their shape individually. The loaf and muffin (white chocolate) were nothing special, but did retain a decent flavour when warmed up. Waves ... is reliable and quick stop for coffee and simple baked goods. Read more
