The best skewers in richmond. I gave 5 stars for the service as I ordered online via fantuan. There were no options to customize the spiciness of items. Hence, I put in the comment requesting to have at least 1 skewer of every item to be non spicy. I ... didn't think they would do it coz it was just too tedious But they did! Lots of tables, some separated by a full wall of wood slats. Had dinner at 8 on. Saturday night. That was a mistake. It was so loud here with men who seemed to be laughing and yelling as loud as they could. While I couldn’t see them, I sure could ... hear them. It was like an assault on the ears… by the time I left I felt like I was battered. Had to raise my voice to be heard by my dinner companions so it was tiring just to have a conversation. You order from a paper menu which you mark off with the items you want. You ring a white plastic service bell to get a waiter, which makes sense because visually we are hidden. Help does come quickly, but it was minimal service with a full house. I felt like I couldn’t get a waiter to stay long enough to tell them everything I needed, as things felt rushed and frantic. Finally about the food: the beef skewers were tasty and well herbed but salty and skimpy. We also had the lamb and pork, also good. The scallops you order one by one… they are not skewers so it is $4 per scallop. I really enjoyed the strong fresh minced garlic seasoning. The oysters are $5 each, but unfortunately they were so baked that the delicate membrane of the edges dried out and baked, sticking to the shell, so were inaccessible to my mouth! Again, I was hoping they would be oyster skewers with more than one oyster in each order. The eggplant was excellent, also smothered in a minced garlic topping, 4 short quarters for $13? As it was, I didn’t feel like I was getting good value for this meal. It came out to $123 for three people, with no drinks. This is the second branch in the city, the first is in Richmond. On both places, the food is great! It could be a little pricy, around $80 for 2 people, but the food is very nice! The ambience and staff are very good as well! They have both dine-in ... and take away. Oh! And you should try the Durian pastry! Really good! Read more

BBQ’ing in the woods? Been coming to this place for almost a dozen times now. It’s one of those late night BBQ place you hang with your friends for a couple of drinks Inside is pretty spacious and well lit, given the facts that with all the BBQ’ing inside, the ventilation ... is pretty good. Here were the food I ordered this time around; 1. Bbq chicken gizzards, chicken hearts, chicken skin, pork intestine skewers. Pretty standard, but could be less dry and the pork intestine less gamey. 2. Angus beef and chicken wing skewers. The chicken wings okay, the beef could be chunkier. 3. Grilled oysters. The outside looked good until I putted It into my mouth. It was still raw at the bottom and had a weird taste. Spitted it out and the boss lady took them off the bill. Failed almost possible food poisoning. 4. Grilled scallops. Can someone please tell me where or what happened to the rest of the scallops? Lol wth!?! I swear they used to be different? (Facepalm) failed for serving an incomplete live scallop on shell. 5. Grilled tiger prawns. Okay pretty basic, not worth $9 for 2 prawns. 6. Pan fried spicy clams. Pretty tasty and generous portion. Great drinking dish! 7. Grilled codfish with spicy pepper (added quail eggs, bamboo shoots, luncheon meat, bean curd skins). Wish the flame didn’t ran out after 5mins, would’ve been nice to get the whole dish come to a complete boil to fuse the taste and ingredients together. 8. Bowl of rice. Rice is rice lo Overall, it’s an okay late night place to hang out with friends for a few drinks and some Chinese BBQ food. But definitely there are better BBQ places during the early evening time. The service here is decently okay most of the time. A tiny bit better than most Chinese restaurants. As for the food, it’s a bit different than last the time I been here. Went there for dinner and we had a great meal. They are specialised in skewers and have many varieties. From lamb to intestines to tongues...to prawns...lots of choices, all as tasty as the other... Their chicken wings skewers is to die for... Absolutely extraordinary. The menu is a bit hard to ... read as it is written in quite big in Chinese but the English is very small and we didn't have our reading glasses with us 😅, luckily they can give you a QR code that will show you the whole menu in English with pictures on it too. For desserts, you can order donuts with durian, donuts with cheese and donuts with yogurt. All worth a try ! The service was excellent! Read more
