So happy that I gave this place a try, it’s legit a perfect dining experience here and this neighborhood is lucky to have this local gem! At Cayenne bistro you are going to get a fusion of East Africa and India served in a balanced way, that will expose you ... to a cuisine you didn’t know you needed in your life. Upon entering you are greeted and treated like you’ve entered the owners home. In a nicely decorated, extremely clean and comforting restaurant. The got a super unique beer selection to go with their cool food. Many of the dishes are creations of chef Zeimina herself, so you can only eat these meals here. All the dishes are made and served with love and care here. Which means that everything was honestly outstanding, in particular the lamb biryani. The lamb was slow cooked to perfection and comes in a unique curry like reduction. You can choose your spice level to which is a nice touch. The Choma Platter is also perfect for sharing. They also got a wide range of drinks and desserts. The Gulab Jamun comes in a saffron sauce which was super unique. Overall this a perfect dining experience. From the service and kind hospitality, delicious food and drinks, unique concept, large portion size and prices. The owners are very attentive, guide you through the menu, teach you about their culture and make an active effort to get to know every customer. It was a quiet weeknight. The service was amazing. The vibe was also good. We ordered kuku paka chicken with naan, lamb chops with pili pili mogo and mango lassi. It was quite a downfall of the food. The lamp chops sauce, pili pili sauce, the curry and the lassi ... were all watery. High rating for the service but slightly disappointed with the dishes. Read more

Heard great things about this Indian-East African fusion restaurant and was eager to try it - the experience didn't disappoint! There was plenty of space to walk-in and dine inside, and the staff prepared the food in a very timely and efficient manner. The beef kebabs were quite tasty and ... very crispy, seasoned well without being overpowering in terms of space. The Zanzibar kuku paka was delicious and highly recommended - it's a coconut-based curry dish with bone-in chicken and potatoes, served with fresh garlic naan and seasoned vegetables to garnish on the side. A go-to spot for myself and family. Gluten free options and all halal meat which is a bonus. Very very tasty well made food, generous portions, personable and caring owner, attentive service and overall a nice clean restaurant to eat at. The food was so good I didn’t realize until 5 ... minutes after we all started eating that I didn’t take a picture! Tonight they gave me a smiley face on my mango lassi, which added a funny and extra friendly experience. Read more

Thanks to a great friend of mine who suggested this place for dinner last night for my (belated) birthday dinner. It was an excellent choice indeed. The restaurant seems to be operated by a husband and wife team, and we had the pleasure meeting them both on this occasion. ... The husband greeted us and patiently helped us explore the menu and provided us many great suggestions. He also told us with a big smile his wife is the secret success behind all the delicious dishes at the restaurant 👍.
