Harvey’s - Brantford, Ontario

With being one of the few choices of places to eat past 8 p.m in Brantord you would expect a place like Harveys to strive on late night quality . For years Harveys used to represent hot fresh flame broiled burge, tasty onion rings and overall good food ... that separated it from other takeout chains . This is the 2nd time I have had Harveys in a span of 8 weeks and each time ot feels like I'm chewing on a rubber burger that has been sitting in the hot sun for a few minutes , the onion rings were like cardboard that has been sitting outside for a few days and served by someone I had to repeat my order to 3 times due to language barriers . Finally once broken down into 3 word sentences my order was completed. My complaint here is the quality of food and the insane price it now costs for a standard combo . Do better Harveys , change your deep fryer oil more frequent and don't allow sub par quality . Until branford's choices get better I will stick to other chain restaurants who have way more consistency in their food although I enjoy it less Read more

I liked that they make the burger by allowing me to choose from the display

My other half dragged me to this place to test their burgers and I liked them so much, we decided to buy only supermarket steak burgers to make at home in the future. The burgers are great, together with chips and fountain drinks, no wonder within minutes of arriving ... here, just before lunch time, mid week, the place became packed with people taking their away. The place was clean and the staff seemed to be very thoughtful and kind. Don't you love these places away from the madness of big cities where people only like shoving each other? Will be back. Ordered 2 meals through Skip plus the donuts. Driver was very good and even apologized for the delay. Mentioned food quality may not be good as they were sent elsewhere first. Upon opening our order and seeing it all looked okay, we noticed that everything was pretty much cold. Moving onto ... the donuts. Which looked like something I'd scoop out of a litterbox. I called the store to discuss this only to be "put in my place" by someone who clearly has ZERO listening skills. We went back and forth about how they looked and how hard they had become and I made mention that regardless of "what the donuts went through" to get to me, they looked burnt and were hard and tasteless. He continued to raise his voice to me telling me "how it works" even though I have ordered these in the past both through dine in, take out and yes, delivery. ALL other times, the donuts did not look or taste like these. EVER. Long story short, this "manager" tells me the problem lies with Skip, not them. So once I said "It was your store that made them and sent them out, not Skip". He yelled a little more then hung up on me. I will not blame Skip for this. Its the restaurants problem. I just had the Angus, Bacon, Cheddar burger for lunch at this location. The drive through was fairly busy so I went inside and to my surprise there wasn’t a line. Harmanpreet took my order and also made my burger. It was delicious and quick. I would highly recommend this ... location. Read more
