We had the buffet on Easter weekend. Service was fine, the young person serving us was friendly. Table maintenance could have been a bit better, but that's a training issue that can be easily remedied. The manager was on the floor working hard, and it seemed the team was engaged. I ... enjoyed the buffet. $32 for a wide selection of items including soups, salads, carvery ( turkey , ham), hot items, and extensive dessert bar. While it's not the best food you've ever eaten, the value and the choices make it worthwhile. I would eat here again next time in Brandon. Read more

Service poor. Had to remind waitress at least twice to bring some items. My poached eggs on the Breakfast Poutine came runny - I wasn't asked how I wanted it. I like it med-hard. They took it back and came back 15 mins later with boiled eggs instead of poached. ... They took it back and I waited for another 15 minutes for a med-cooked poached egg with no hollandaise sauce on it. Much of my hollandaise sauce was lost the 1st time they took it back - I just gave my eggs, not the whole dish - my choice. They said they couldn't poach the egg hard for Breakfast Poutine - weird! POSITIVE NOTE: The waitress was friendly and they took 20% off the 2 meals that had to be returned for eggs being too soft. Read more

Canada Inns ae going down hill. The Aaltos is not open with a buffet any more and they got rid if their kid friendly room along with their theme rooms for adults. Never going to stay there because they are not family friendly. Used to rent rooms 6+ times a ... year not going to anymore. Read more

Ate here twice on our vacation. The first time we were there the service was very slow but the restaurant was not packed. The second time we were there we asked whether the danish we ordered for a child contained cream cheese or whether it was undercooked, the server shrugged ... off the question with a response of “I don’t know, I have never had the danish”. It seemed like the server was not coached on how to address concerns about food quality. After asking them to check with the kitchen, they still could not confirm whether the danish had cream cheese or was undercooked, and took it off the bill. The butter tasted rancid on the toast but nothing was done to correct this….no offer to replace it, and the only spread available for 2 orders of toast was one package of strawberry jam! I stayed in the hotel and went to Aaltos for breakfast. The food was good but the management was not. I was hassled by management because I happened to bring in a coffee. I had gone for a walk before breakfast and picked up a coffee at a coffee shop. ... After having been seated and having ordered breakfast, the server approached me saying that her manager had seen me with an outside coffee and that violated their rules. I'd have to turn in my coffee or leave. I don't fault the server. I asked to speak to the manager. After a brief conversation, the manager "let" me stay "just this once". This is not how you want to treat guests in your hotel/restaurant... very poor hospitality. Read more
