Friend and I went here for the 1st time and let me tell ya, this won't be the last time. This is our favorite go to spot for fish and chips from now on. What a phenomenal restaurant! I and a friend stopped in to try the menu. She had the haddock and chips lunch special while I tried the steak and kidney pie. Both were prepared promptly and served by friendly attentive staff. The chips were crisp and a ... perfect texture, the fish was flaky, and the batter tasty. This is one of the few places within 60 miles where you can get steak and kidney pie served. All in all a very decent restaurant. I would not be surprise to see this place be the start of a chain. Harbourside Fish and Chips is an average restaurant with nothing particularly standout in terms of flavor. We ordered the Halibut and Cod with chips and a classic strawberry funnel cake. The staff were friendly and provided helpful suggestions for our order. The funnel cake was delightful, and we enjoyed every ... bite. Unfortunately, the same can't be said for the fish. Priced at $22, the Halibut was overcooked and chewy, which was disappointing. The chips were unimpressive, with most of them burnt and unpalatable. On a positive note, the cod was nice, flaky, and tasted much better. While I would consider returning for the cod, the inconsistency in their cooking makes it hard to recommend. This place is not ideal for takeout, and although dining in might offer a different experience, our takeout experience has discouraged us from trying that as well. Read more

While my expectations were low, the funnel cake came out deliciously fried — the batter light, airy and crispy ... akin to the batter on the fish.
