Jamaica House Kitchen - Brampton, Ontario

Terrible, I think Jamaica house at this location is rationing food. Because I have purchased from there so has my mother and they count how much strips of coleslaw they put in the container how much rice and how much piece of oxtail this is ridiculous if you see ... the photos posted by myself and mother this is not $13 this dish is about 6 or 8 sunrise would never do this to their customers it's disrespectful I hope the owner sees these comment and evaluate their server make some changes and start cooking with real seasoning the oxtail was tasteless I cook better I feel like I can take the clients from this place cook out my house and generate better revenue!! They have definitely improved since I went there few months ago. The cashier was very friendly and quick. The food was actually well made, almost comparable to Sunrise! The only reason for the -1 star is because of the amount of ox tail curry that was on my ... rice... 1 table spoon. But the rice had nice aroma and spice to it, the chick was tender and delicious. The portion sizes are good too, but after eating it a small I felt like I could have eaten a large easily - because it was delicious! Read more

I was very disappointed with my experience at Jamaica House Kitchen. I went on a Tuesday and asked for the Toonie Tuesday Special and was told that it ends at 6pm so I went with the small dinner. After I placed my order everybody else that went after me ordered ... the Tuesday special and received it. I have never had a worse restaurant experience in my life , when I asked the cashier politely "How come the other customers are able to order the special?" he replied with "they called in". So I waited and the next person in line ordered the special and their was no mention of a phone order or calling in. When I got back to my car I called Jamaica House Kitchen 5 times and every single time it went to voicemail after many rings. I find it very hard to believe that those other customers called in. When I received my order I checked it and it was the wrong rice, so I sent it back the cashier did not say sorry or anything just took it back like I had done something wrong. Then after a short while I got my order again so I checked it and it was the wrong gravy this time. After all of this I decided that the only way you can make a statement or a difference is with your wallet. I am not every going to take my business to Jamaica House Kitchen ever again. Another problem was a customer that came in after me received his food first, maybe this was because he knew the staff. I suggest to people to either go to Baker's House of Jerk, Gem's Jerk and Sunrise Caribbean Restaurant. This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. Good food with unreliable service. What's the point of calling in your order if you are just going to end up waiting. This has happened numerous times and the staff don't seem bothered or concerned. I've ordered food over the phone and gotten there at the time the recommended ... only to wait and watch other customers come and go while I wait. Such a shame. I'll do Sunrise anyday over Jamaica House kitchen. Read more

I have been visiting Jamaica House Kitchen for years, since it opened. The food is amazing especially the curry goat. However their customer service leaves a bad taste in the mouth and it's like they are doing you favour by serving you. They rarely answer the phone when you call ... and if your call should go to voice-mail it's always full. If you order your food ahead it is guaranteed you will wait at least 20 mins to get it. To rate the food definitely a 5 star, to rate the service I would say 2 star. Read more
