Dairy Queen - Barrie, Ontario

This afternoon, Sunday June 23 approx 3pm my family and I went through the Barrie Yonge St. dairy queen drive-thru and we ordered 4 small dipped cones for $24 and had the worst service and quality ever! Each cone was barely covered with the chocolate coating and the entire cone ... was falling apart!??? The young server explained that the chocolate is fresh and too hot and that’s the reason it’s not covering the vanilla ice cream? *No sorry, no trying to make the situation better.? All four cones were dripping all over us and my car and over half of the $5+ each ice cream ended up on the floor!??? * On top of that, to make matters worse, the usual ‘fresh crispy’ cones started dripping through the bottom, making more of a mess, and it was stale to add to the let-down;( We were extremely disappointed to say the least, and my car seats needed to be shampooed and cleaned after our horrific messy visit. the last 3 times i’ve had horrific experiences. no one who works there cares, and it’s apparent when they have 5 teenagers who would rather laugh then sell. they steal your money by never giving you what you order, or the quantity you BOUGHT. waited over a month for a ... calls the staff don’t care and will mess up your meal EVERY single time ! and not care at all. i will never go back. downtown is better and that’s saying something. do better and make it up to customers instead of saying “hope to see you again” management is as ridiculous as the service apparently. We only go here for ice cream so I cannot comment on the food but the blizzards are always great. I will say the drive thru is always packed and service tends to be pretty slow but it's usually worth it. Not very many places to sit or park to ... enjoy your ice cream but if you're looking to grab something and leave you can't go wrong. Read more

Placing the order and checking out to receiving the food was elegant and efficient. The food on the other hand, is a whole different story. The fries were over salted and that was the decent part of the meal. We ordered cheeseburgers that has cardboard filling for patties and an extreme ... surplus of mustard and ketchup. The pickles were good. The redemption is definitely their ice cream blizzards to wash away any lingering flavour. It's a Dairy Queen. No surprises there and this franchise is run fairly well. The service staff are friendly, helpful and fast. The 🍨🍦 icecream and treats are fresh, tasty and ready to go.
