Simmering Kettle - Barrie, Ontario

We came for brunch with my child and 2 other adults. We were seated quickly but when we took a seat the seats were wet. No big deal for me we all miss things some times. The issue is when we ordered. We waited an excess of 40 minutes for ... our food. We spent 5 minutes attempting to waive down our server with no luck. After another few minutes we decided to pay for our coffees and orange juice at the front register but were told by another server it was fine and we don’t need to worry about the bill. If the interaction ended here I would not be leaving a review BUT As we stepped outside OUR SERVER came out to tell us our food was almost out. We said we can’t wait any longer and it’s been over an hour at this point (anyone with children can understand). She then accused us of Dining and dashing in front of my child and friends. We explained to her dining and dashing would imply that we ate the food we never received and after a moment she did apologize. I don’t take being called a thief in-front of my family lightly. We thought we'd try a different breakfast place in Barrie. The service was great, the atmosphere nice (some of the furniture needed upgrades) but unfortunately the food was just okay. It had been too long since our last visit. We really enjoyed seeing the friendly, warm staff. Our food was great as usual. My wife and I had a very tasty dinner. The Kettle tapas and the liver and onions with garlic mashed potatoes. For dessert, sticky pudding.

Met a good friend here for breakfast and it was very enjoyable. The food was fresh, plated well and good portions. It’s not the cheapest place in town but the California omelette my friend got was delicious as well and mine speaks for itself! I’ll spend my money here!!

This restaurant similar to other restaurants like Sunset Grill, Cora, etc. The service was excellent, friendly. The restaurant was not crowded. We ordered for omelette and burger. The prices are reasonable. The waitress was nice and welcoming us. Recommended for families to come here.
