Popped in for a late weekend breakfast. The place was packed, but we managed to find a table and had our food and coffees quite quickly, considering the lineup. Food was outstanding. Regular drip coffee is a quite acidic medium roast. Large americano was nice, but a bit weak. Ambiance ... was impeccable with live music and exposed brick walls. I stumbled across this super humble little cafe in downtown and what an awesome experience. The joint itself is super rad, very yummy coffee at reasonable care and an extremely comforting and chilled atmosphere with some incredibly tasty homemade goodies and fresh breads available made daily. I love the ethics ... of this place and the heavy approach to organic and sustainability. I also totally dig the coffee cup and lid designs, super cute. My soy Americano was phenomenal and I cannot wait to visit again. A great cup of joe to enjoy whilst walking along the waterfront. Good vibes, great coffee and great people! Support local businesses! Homestead is definitely a place that Barrie people will be proud of, cherish, and love. One of the main reasons it gives off a lively vibe compared to other small cities downtown areas is because of this place. While the prices are a bit high, from the moment you step into ... this space, choose a menu, place an order, receive food and drinks, feel the warmth from the interior, taste the excellent food, and leave, you will be satisfied. The sourdough bread and bakery items made with local flour and fresh ingredients are all excellent for breakfast and lunch menus. When I went there on Valentine's Day, I got a lovely and cute pink toast, and I felt happy all day long. How can you not love this place, filled with kind people and bustling early in the morning!? Tucked inside an historic building on the north side of Dunlop Street near to Owen, this place makes fantastic baked goods and a good hearty cup of coffee. The staff are helpful and welcoming, and the clientele is the usual mix of young people on their laptops, couples, old friends ... gathering, and seniors. There’s an eclectic mix of tables and chairs - wood and metal - and the property has big, bright windows facing the street. But the nicest part of the ambiance was the exposed brick wall, awnings and fairy lights, strung across the ceiling. Each day they make different breads, so check their website. Their baked goods are outstanding, and they have a great selection of items from the grab and go freezer, including their own pizza dough.
