Jack Astor’s Bar & Grill - Barrie, Ontario

Absolutely love going to Jack Astors! This place has a special place in my heart and we always end up here to celebrate little wins in life. Service has always always been super fast (even during covid and yes we did go during covid when restaurants were opening up) Our servers have ... always been courteous, friendly and quick! The in-house DJ at the mapleview location needs a special shout out because he is a vibe! His song selection is on point! Gets you wanting to stand up and dance. The summer menu that's out with all its seafood appetizers are yum! I had the lobster rolls last time and presentation and taste were 👏👌. We ve also had a delivery done once and that was great too! Although the garlic bread tastes much better at the restaurant because they ve already added in the butter and garnish whereas when it's delivered you need to it at home and doesn't have the oomph that you get when you dine in! The bow tie pasta is really good! Did not expect to like it as much as I did! Only down side would be that the portion size of the desserts and brownies are so very small now! It used to be massive. Went on a first date, person I was meeting recommended we meet there that it was a good Jack's. Service was superb, thank you Shonna! Food was as good as mentioned to me. I recommend the chicken strips. I had them traditionally buffalo sauced and tossed, blue cheese dip on ... the side. Presentation was simple but pleasing to the eye. Fantastic place! had my 60th birthday dinner there for 13 of us. All of our food came at the same time, the waitresses were superior, the atmosphere of Xmas lights etc was beautiful! I would recommend this place 💯

This Jack Astor's has a bit more atmosphere compared to other's I've eaten at. The food was was great, ordered the wonton nachos for an appetizer and the sauced and tossed chicken fingers in the medium Buffalo sauce as a main. The only issue was waiting a while to get ... our bill, and more of wait for us to pay it. Overall I would recommend. Read more

It has been a long time since I was here. Today my husband and I decided to come and remember this place, nice ambiance, excellent service, and actually the food was really good! Specially the steak. Now that I went back I will go more often, I didn’t give them ... the 5 stars only because the beer wasn’t as cold as it should be.
