Silver Dragon Restaurant - Banff, Alberta

Words could never really describe what i experienced here, but in short I was blown away… I grew up, lived, worked and travelled in many countries around the world and special occasions means eating out at Chinese Restaurants with the family, and believe me, I know what a good Chinese food ... tastes like. This restaurant brought me back to my childhood core memories, from the good smell when you entered to the taste of the food, it is traditional, original and quality. The price is cheap, considering the location, ambience and over all food and staff. Our waiter was so nice to us that the $20 tip I gave i felt was not enough. He even tried to refuse getting a tip! All he wanted was for us to come back again. Next time we visit Banff It will now be a family tradition to eat there, its worth the drive. This Restaurant should be awarded a Michelin Star. I forgot to take pictures of the food because I was really hungry but also the food was delicious! The restaurant wasn't as busy as I thought it was going to be on a Saturday lunch, which can be good or bad. The food was good and service excellent. SUPERB! A gem to be cherished in Banff! The food was so good and as far as I know, very authentic and perfectly balanced in salt content. The service is very friendly, sharp/fine, and very helpful as I asked questions about plates and some of their history and culture. This looks ... like harmonious team of owners and staff. Didn't book, walked in. Very friendly polite staff greeted me. Chef made me a special spicy chicken curry and veg. I had a long island ice tea. I thought the cocktail prices were amazing value for money. Nicely mixed too. Place was spotless, nicely decorated. We walked in for dinner. It's a nice place in a busy area. The service had us seated and with a delicious hot green tea in a minute. We ordered, and within 10 minutes, we received wonton soup and a crispy spring roll. It was so good I forgot to ... talk pictures. When the main course came, we were almost full already.
