Wildfire Grill - Banff, Alberta

I was probably the first customer they had that morning, and I was by myself, so I was unable to see how this place performs under pressure.* What I did get though, was a very lovely waitress who was kind and sweet. She brought me a little dish of fruit ... to tide me over until my Eggs Benedict showed up. When I first saw my meal, I was very impressed! The hollandaise sauce did not look like something artificial, nor did it taste like it! The english muffin was toasted perfectly and did not become soggy by the end of my meal. The portions were perfect! My meal did not feel like it was drowning in sauce, but felt like it was the ideal amount. The fried potato cubes on the side were very crunchy on the outside and soft and fluffy on the inside. This entire meal was lovely, and very close to perfect. My only criticisms would be: when I asked for my egg cooked medium, it came out easy, so there was still some runny white. And adding some color to the dish. A sprinkle of parsley or chive would have made the dish pop more, and make it look more exciting! The taste was there, just needed something to fancy it up, as we eat first with out eyes. * When we returned on a weekend for breakfast, the hashbrowns were soggy and so was the toast (we ordered off the menu in hopes the quality would be better than the buffet that had sat there for a while) my eggs from my eggs benedict were so unevenly cooked it was awful. Our server didn't even offer to replace it. He just took it away and took 20% off our bill. We appreciated the discount, but I was still hungry! We returned in the evening for some drinks and our waitress was incredible and went out of her way to make us have an extremely enjoyable evening! Overall this place is great if you end up with a great server who works to make everything right. Otherwise the quality is lacking. We will be back again for another try in the future. Read more

It's fine. Stayed at Inns of Banff often. Hot tub closed and bears den pub shut early during week. Needs a bit work done to go back. This year stayed at fox.Brill

10% off coupon and $5 off gift certificate were not enough. 1. Host sat us at a table that hadn’t been cleaned. Picked up the plates off the table and told us to sit 2. Breakfast buffet items represent everything’s no on the breakfast menu. (Except eggs Benedict) So chef is cooking ... the same thing all morning. Why then does anyone have to wait for food? The food items were not difficult to prepare so why were they so poor in quality 3. Serving staff was confused and disoriented. Some smelling like cigarettes. This is basic stuff that any restaurant should have a handle on. My guess is there will be a new manager soon. Read more

Awful experience. There was only 4 other tables besides us and we didn't get any of our drinks (all we ordered was a water, coke and ceasar) for over 40 minutes. We finally waved down one of the servers and asked if we could cancel our drinks and get our ... food packed up. She rudely said that our drinks are ready at the bar but didn't even bother to go get them for us. And another server came over and told us that they were very 'busy'. No apologies or anything. When the food came it was not even mediocre. Definitely NOT worth the wait. Service was awful. We will not be back! Read more

This restaurant is located in the Inns of Banff. I went there today for the breakfast brunch buffet around 9am. Well, were do I begin. I hate to say that it was my worst buffet experiences. The orange juice had run out with all the pulp clogging the spout. I ... told the server that they were out of orange juice. Nothing was done about it. The french toast was the worst I have had. The scrambled eggs were weird, too. But the worst part was I felt for what was offered the price was on the high price of $14. I would have been better off ordering from the menu were it would have been fresh and the price payed for that perticular dish. Read more
