Doo Doo’s Bakery - Bailieboro, Bailieboro, Ontario

Stopped in today while on a road trip and their Butter Tarts were absolutely amazing. We got a variety of different kinds - coconut raspberry, pecan, plain, lemon and maple bacon - and all were delicious. Well worth the trip from Whitby!!

I have been to Doo Doo's a couple of times in the past, but, have never left a Google review. I am confident in saying that these are the best buttertarts I have tried. They hit all the bases, excellent filling, and have amazingly flaky, tender, tasty pastry. We aren't around Bailieboro ... very often, so, we were super excited to find out they were at a buttertart even in Bowmanville. We picked up 6 plain, 6 walnut and 6 raspberry coconut tarts. I do not like raspberry pastries but my family were massive fans of these. The consensus was 'these are the best I have tried', and, 'the filling is so good'. I like a set buttertart, these are set, but, not gummy. They strike the perfect balance between set and runny tarts. The nut varieties are my favourites as they end up with more caramelization of the filling which deepens the flavour. The nuts also provide a contrast to the soft filling. The pastry is flaky, tender, and crumbles in your mouth. They do not skimp on the fat in their pastry. It's possible there are better buttertarts out there, but, there can't be many. Read more

Stopped here specifically to tryout probably the most awarded butter tarts in Canada and were not disappointed. All the awards are displayed on multiple shelves and look very impressive. You can have coffee with tarts, pies or icecream right there on the spot or take them with you. We chose a mix of 6 ... tarts to go and every single one was extremely delightful for our tastebuds. Even if you are not a big fan of butter tarts you will probably become one after visiting this place and try those out. Can't even compare with the ones in the regular stores. I was a little disappointed as I woke up super early and drove 2 hours just to try a Chocolate Peanut Butter tart and they weren't ready when I arrived. The Fireball tarts was pretty good. 3 tarts for $12 is a little expensive. The place is cute.

Definitely the best butter tarts I’ve ever eaten. I think it was $3.75 a tart. Had a few options left near the end of day when we went both times. Top favourites by far were the original & the bacon. The apple turnover was also very yummy!
